Job Summary

MOXFIVE is seeking an experienced Security and Data Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the threat landscape and the incident response process and articulate a strong vision of how to improve outcomes leveraging data.

As a Threat Intel Data Analyst, you will manage MOXFIVE’s threat intelligence data collection efforts, and work with various MOXFIVE stakeholders to derive insights into the changing threat landscape and support our mission to minimize the business impact of cyber-attacks.

Responsibilities

Threat Intellgence

• Oversee, maintain, and expand data collection efforts related to the evolving cyber threat landscape.
• Analyze information related to Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs), Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs), and integrate these into MOXFIVE’s body of knowledge.
• Conduct research on new methods of compromise and how best to track them.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards, reports, and metrics to be shared with MOXFIVE’s various stakeholders.
• Accurately interpret and communicate threat details and proactive next steps to stakeholders.

Strategic Data/Intelligence Planning

• Stay informed about emerging threat groups and TTPs, aligning Intel initiatives with organizational goals.
• Find new and innovative means of merging threat landscape data with Incident Response telemetry collected from MOXFIVE engagements.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure data accuracy and quality, working with the Delivery and Technology teams to expand the capabilities of the MOXFIVE Platform and MOXFIVE collection efforts.

Data Analytics

• Collaborate with the MOXFIVE Data Analytics team to ensure accurate interpretation, utilization, and presentation of collected data.
  
• Perform research and analysis, and work with stakeholders to develop new use cases for MOXFIVE data.
• Regularly review datasets to ensure the types of data collected effectively support MOXFIVE’s mission and empower the broader team with data and insights to leverage in their respective roles.

Job Skills & Qualifications (Required)

• Experience and in-depth knowledge of cybercrime and incident response lifecycles.
• Experience collecting, organizing, and presenting information regarding emerging threat groups, IOCs and TTPs.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data sets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate proactive professionalism and clarity.
• Organizational skills aligned with a fast-paced, startup culture that values a sense of urgency, attention to detail, delivering on commitments, and close collaboration with teammates.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends, in cases of emergency

Preferred

• Experience in the following technologies/languages:

  • SQL
  • Python
  • STIX/TAXII

• Hands-on experience in a practitioner role focused on offensive security, incident response, or security monitoring.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, engineering, or related field/work experience.
• Data analytics and visualization experience.
